Paul tells us, "since 2009 most of my unique pop-up pieces have been made without folds. I use several different types of paper hinges—including dovetails. Each work can be taken to pieces, units changed or damaged sections replaced. The spring action of folded paper is therefore eliminated. The pop-ups open easily and fold flatter than more conventional construction methods." Flying to the Promised land is the prototype of a planned limited pop-up edition that never materialized.
